SIBURAN: Kampung Brandau here holds the potential to become an icon as a fresh vegetable-producing village for the Siburan market area.

Deputy Minister for Transport (Road and Aviation), Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said Kampung Brandau is undergoing positive changes and development compared to several years ago, especially in terms of infrastructure development and the supply of clean water, electricity and village road construction.

Dr Jerip made these remarks during a pre-Christmas programme organised by the Village Development and Safety Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Brandau recently.

Addressing the issue of native customary rights (NCR) land, he urged the villagers to collaborate with the village chief and JKKK to expedite the documentation process for NCR land.

He expressed hope that the villagers would explore and engage in modern and group farming practices on the existing land, such as planting coffee and cassava, to facilitate the collection of crops for marketing.

During the same event, he pledged RM30,000 for JKKK of Kampung Brandau to carry out activities throughout the year.
