Dr Sim visits inter-cultural mooncake festival

KUCHING: Minister for Local Government and Housing, Prof. Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian visited the Kuching Inter-Cultural Mooncake Festival 2017 at Carpenter Street here, last Monday night. It is being held from 28 September to 4 October.

Also present were Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief, Cr. Wilfred Yap, SUPP Youth Chief, Tan Kai, SUPP Youth Central Publicity Secretary, Milton Foo and others.

Along the festival’s venue at Carpenter Street here, 100 stalls selling various types of mooncakes, food, drinks and others including halal ones were set up.

There are also mini stages for the different communities to perform their traditional dances, music and martial arts.

Dr Sim also visited a display of handmade lanterns for a traditional lantern competition held in conjunction with the festival.
