LUNDU: The drainage system in Semunin Cina Lundu costing RM300,000 has been completed ahead of schedule.
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, Tanjong Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu expressed her thanks to Kontraktor Mois Bersatu Enterprise as well as the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) for their cooperation which contributed to the swift completion.
“The rural transformation programme (RTP) 2020 Tanjong Datu began on May 25 this year and it was expected to be completed by Oct 21.
“However, it was completed on Sept 30,” she said during a visit to the project site on Wednesday (Oct 13).
She added that it was also collaboration between the ketua kaum dan ketua masyarakat (KMKK) and members of Lundu District Council (MDL) to improve the infrastructure in the area as well as to solve the problem of flash floods.
Also present during the visit were Cr Goh Chin Seng, Cr Fatimah Abdullah, Penghulu Chin Kian Ming, and KK Kampung Semunin Cina Ang Meng Hua.
