KUCHING: SUPP Kota Sentosa branch is happy that Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is implementing drainage upgrading works at Lorong 7, 9, 11, 37, 37A and 37B, Stampin Resettlement Scheme.

The tender for the project was done through open tender and awarded to the successful contractor.

SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch chairman, Wilfred Yap thanked party president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Housing and Local Government for his assistance in securing government funding for the said drainage upgrading works.

Yap had earlier highlighted the matter to Sim on behalf of the Kota Sentosa residents.

Meanwhile Yap, together with Tan Kai, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, MBKS councillors and community leaders recently attended a simple ceremony for the erection of signboards at Lorong 7, 9, 11, 37, 37A and 37, Stampin Resettlement Scheme.

The signboards were to inform the residents that the contract through open tender for upgrading drainage works had been awarded to the successful contractor.

The total contract sum for the upgrading works is approximately RM2.5 Million. Construction works will commence in March, 2018 and scheduled for completion in December, 2018.

Yap will continue to follow-up and monitor the drainage improvement works on the drains until all the works are completed by the contractor to the satisfaction of all parties.
