Drive-through certificates presentation for SPM students

Date:

KUCHING: Some 106 of the Lodge National Secondary School 2020 Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) students received their awards and certificates via drive-through presentation.

The first ever drive-through awards and certificates presentation was done on July 28 where the handing over of the awards and certificates was done by the chairman of Lodge School Association Allister Hilton Smith accompanied by the director of Lodge Group of Schools Su Hiong Ai, and the principal of Lodge National Secondary School Yunus Apok.

“The 2020 Form 5 students at Lodge National Secondary School had done extremely well in their 2020 SPM examination in which the school achieved a GPA of 2.91 with 14 students obtaining straight As.

“The excellent results are the testament to how much they had toiled and worked hard amidst the global pandemic,” commended Allister.

Meanwhile, he noted that the presentation session was a shift from the regular physical ceremony that usually caters for a large gathering.

“Hence, only a student or a parent was allowed to collect the SPM certificates and awards at the foyer of Lodge National Secondary School.

“Those present had closely abided and practised the standard operative procedures that were lined up to ensure safety. The ceremony was truly a success and a time worth remembering,” he said.

He added that the said ceremony also marked the closing of 2020 Form 5 students’ secondary school year and with them stepping into a new stage of their lives.

“With this, we would like to bid them all the best and a great success in their future undertakings,” he said.

The ceremony was witnessed and monitored by the Private Education Unit of Kuching District Education Office Fiona Ting and the Assessment and Examination Sector of Kuching District Education Office Chong Sin Jaw.
