MIRI: The drive-thru pharmacy at Tudan health clinic will be fully operational in early March, said Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

The facility is the second to be built in Miri Division after the drive-thru pharmacy in Miri Hospital which was completed in January this year and is the fifth in Sarawak.

The construction of the RM80,000 project is a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Miri Oil Town, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senadin branch and Tudan health clinic.

During a site inspection yesterday, Lee presented a mock cheque for RM20,000 to the Rotary Club of Miri Oil Town president Sean Huang for the project. Also present was person-in-charge of the health clinic, Dr Maurice Steve.

Lee believed that the drive-thru pharmacy would make it easier for patients to collect their medicine.

The minister also revealed that a proposal to build another health clinic in Permyjaya has been submitted to the Ministry of Health.

“I hope they will include the proposal in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP).

“The Tudan health clinic is the busiest in Miri, serving more than 700 patients a day and we hope building another health clinic in Permyjaya would reduce the congestion here,” he pointed out.

Permyjaya and Tudan, he added, required more access to health care services because of their rapid population growths.

The drive-thru pharmacy at Tudan health clinic is expected to be fully operational in March this year.
