KUCHING: A drive thru pharmacy service offered by Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for patients to obtain their medications received a nod from Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
The service, which is located at Kozi Square, just beside the hospital, is collaboration between the private company through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme and the hospital.
“This is the very spirit of Sarawak solidarity ― willing to adapt and change not only for everyone’s convenience but also reduce the risk of exposure to Covid-19.
“Truly an example to follow in being a united front amidst the war against the pandemic,” he wrote in a Facebook posting late Thursday.
The drive-thru service by the hospital is open from Monday to Friday at 8am until 5pm and patients should inform the hospital’s pharmacist before picking up their medicine.
“First, take photos of the prescription, both front and back and WhatsApp to the number 011-2060 6766. When the medicine is ready, the SGH pharmacist will let you know when to collect at their ‘drive thru’ counter,” Dr Sim said.
He expressed his appreciation to Kozi Square for their partnership with the state government on the programme and also for their willingness to provide accommodation and food to SGH frontliners during the pandemic.
“Everyone has a role. Please play your part seriously. Together, we shall overcome Covid-19,” he said.
