KUCHING: A car driver sustained injuries after the car he was driving went out of control and burst into flames at Mile 8, Jalan Penrissen near a fuel station at 5.15am yesterday.
The car had rammed into a lamp post and a road divider. The impact of the crash is believed to have caused the car engine to ignite.
The injured driver however managed to get out of the car by himself just in the nick of time before the car was engulfed by the fire.
Firemen from Batu Lintang fire station arrived at the scene to put out the fire but the car was by then completely razed.
The operation ended at 5.40am.
