KUCHING: A 36-year-old man was killed in an accident involving a car and lorry in Kota Samarahan area last Wednesday night.
The victim, Jackson Lim Kui Hong, was said to be travelling along Jalan Kota Samarahan-Kuching when the car he was driving rammed the rear of a lorry laden with gravel around 7.30pm.
Nine firefighters in a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) machinery and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle from Tabuan Jaya and Batu Lintang fire stations were mobilised to the scene after a distress call was received at 7.36pm.
They arrived at the scene at 8.00pm and immediately extricated Lim who was pinned to his seat.
Lim who sustained serious injuries was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Sarawak General Hospital. His body was handed over to police for further action.
