BETONG: A driver sustained minor injuries after his lorry laden with oil palm fruits, skidded and landed on its side along Jalan Tanjung Asam here last night (June 7).

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Betong fire station were deployed to the scene following a distress call around 9.25 pm.

The driver, a 38-year-old man, was fortunate to be rescued swiftly by members of the public before the Bomba team arrived at the scene.

First aid was promptly administered to the victim, who complained of pain in his waist, before he was taken to Betong Hospital for further treatment.

The scene of the accident where a lorry laden with oil palm fruits, skidded and overturned in the middle of the road.
