KOTA SAMARAHAN: A local man was arrested for the alleged possession of suspected syabu (methamphetamine) in a car yesterday (Feb 27).

According to the Kota Samarahan district police headquarters (IPD), the suspect was arrested around 12.30 pm at Taman Bukit Berangan, here.

A mobile patrol unit spotted a vehicle in a suspicious circumstance and stopped it for inspection.

This led to the discovery of a plastic packet containing 22.66g of suspected syabu inside a sling bag.

Following that, the driver, a man in his 20s, was arrested to facilitate investigation.

The case is being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
