MARUDI: The body of a 15 year-old  boy, who was swept away by strong currents while attempting to cross Sungai Magoh, Baram on Monday (March 8), was found today (March 10).

Rohnia Bajut’s body was discovered by a search and rescue (SAR) team at about 10.02am (March 10) in a pile of logs by the riverbank, some 5km from the spot  where he was reported missing.

Fire and Rescue Zone 6 chief, Supt Law Poh Kiong said the SAR team was scouring the river on the third day of the operation when they spotted the body.

The body has been handed over to the family for funeral arrangement.

Forty-nine people including firemen and nearby villagers with 15 boats were involved in the SAR operation.
