SIBU: The body of a woman found floating in the Batang Lebaan River, Bawang Assan has been confirmed to be the victim of the Tanjung Kunyit ferry pier car accident.
Li’s body was found at 9 am last Monday.
Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili in a statement today (Jan 12) said that the victim was identified as 37-year-old Li Joon Hui.
“The victim’s family members made an identification at the Sibu Hospital mortuary on Tuesday,” he said.
In last Friday’s incident, two of the three passengers of the car that plunged into the river near the ferry pier were reported missing while a 38-year-old man who was the driver of the car survived.
The other victim, Philip Yiin Chung Leong, 61, was found by the public in Batang Lebaan about 10 km from the scene on Sunday morning.
