BINTULU: Police arrested another local for allegedly engaging in substance abuse yesterday.
In a statement Bintulu police chief Supt Batholomew Umpit said the 28-year-old was detained for inspection at Pasar Lama Bintulu.
“Police managed to seized 0.5g of drugs believed to be syabu and the suspect will be investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which provides for a fine up to RM100,000 or a jail term of up to five years,” he said.
He added that the suspect will also be investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act after he tested positive for drugs.
