MIRI: Forty-one individuals including a woman and two persons with disability were arrested by the National Anti-Drugs Agency Miri branch during a seven-day operation held since October 25.
According to the agency’s Miri chief Mazlan Jikran, the operation was held in various locations in Miri including Subis.
“During the operation, we inspected a total of 51 people, and out of that figure, 41 tested positive for drugs (syabu),” said Mazlan.
He added the operation was carried out in two parts, with the first one from Oct 25 to 28 when the team went to Tudan, Permyjaya, Senadin, Pujut Adong, Pujut Padang Kerbau, Kampung Wireless and Taman Tunku.
The team later proceeded to Subis covering areas such as old Bekenu junction, Kampung Subak and Suai in Niah.
Those arrested are being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.
