Drug pusher caught with 56.65g syabu

KUCHING: Police arrested a drug pusher and seized 56.65g of syabu at Mile 7th on Saturday.

Padawan District Police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the 22-year-old suspect from Serian was arrested at 9.45pm in the compound of a homestay in Kota Sentosa.

Aidil pointed out that the pusher was paid RM400 to collect the drug at a designated location.

“Body checks on the suspect found a translucent packet containing crystalline substance believed to be syabu weighing 56.65g in the left side pocket of the suspect’s pants.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect admitted that the drugs belonged to a local dealer known to him.

According to him, the suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine and has been involved in drug abuse activities a week ago although he had criminal record before.

“The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15 (1)(a) of the same Act,” he said when contacted.

The suspect has been brought to the district headquarters for further investigation.

Police also seized a car used by the suspect.
