KUCHING: Drug-related problems at Taman Won in Matang here are taken seriously by the Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, who visited Taman Won on Saturday, said the ministry, through the Social Welfare Department (JKM), was looking to deal with the issues from multiple angles.
“We want the community to have a safe and peaceful environment so that the people won’t have to worry about their houses being broken into and so on,” she said.
She pointed out that the community was well aware that the problems were mainly related to drug abuse.
“We will work on the issues together with Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), community leaders and the people themselves,” she assured.
