MUKAH: Police nabbed a 36-year-old man here for possessing drug last Wednesday.
Mukah District police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said at about 9.15am, police conducted a check on a Proton Preve car parked at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja here.
A man who acted suspiciously inside the car was arrested and checks inside the vehicle found a small transparent plastic packet containing pieces of dry leaves, suspected to be ganja weighing about 2.04 gramme.
“The suspect works in a private sector company here,” he said via WhatsApp.
The man was brought to the police station for further investigation and his urine test returned positive for drug.
The case is being investigated under Section 6 and 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
The suspect is being remanded until March 22 to facilitate police investigation.
