SIBU: Four men, aged between 26 and 35 years old were detained at home along Abang Barieng Road, Sibu at about 6.35pm on Sunday by the Sibu District Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit (BSJND). Sibu Police chief ACP Zailanni Amit said during the inspection process police found 22 transparent packets, which each packet containing 10 psychotropic pills, a type of drug, inside the left pocket of a pair of pants used by one of the suspects. He said a total of 220 psychotropic pills were found.

“Further inspection on the right side pocket of the pants, the police team found a white plastic bottle containing 1420 psychotropic pills (weighing 208.72 grammes),” ACP Zailanni pointed out.All the items were confiscated as case exhibits and for further action.

Four suspects were arrested, he added. “During interrogation, the suspects said that the pills seized were for sale around the area of Kampung Hilir, Kampung Dato, Kampung Abang Barieng and Kampung Bandung,” he said. During the arrest, he said all of the suspects were hanging out and drinking liquor. All suspects will be remanded for further investigation.
