Drugs worth over RM80k seized in two raids

MIRI: Police have seized various types of drugs in two raids, with the drugs estimated to be worth RM82,576 in total.

Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said a team from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department raided two premises in the Bintang Jaya Commercial Centre area.

The raids were conducted on Thursday (Aug 25) from 3pm to 3.15pm and three people—two locals and one foreigner—were detained.

“From inspections on the premises, the team found various types of drugs and confiscated a few items.

“The drugs are 1,982g of white Ecstasy juice (worth RM49,550), 76.05g of 170 Erimin 5 pills (RM2,550), powdered drugs believed to be ketamine weighing 162.54g (RM24,381), 30.9g of various coloured Ecstasy pills (RM1,545) and RM4,550 in cash,” said ACP Alexson.

Police also seized various currencies amounting to RM8,750 as well as a 6.30g gold bracelet worth RM1,600.

ACP Alexson added that all three suspects tested negative for drugs and they were being detained under Section 39B and 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act, 1952.
