MIRI: A late-night accident on Jalan Pantai Lutong, near Lutong Old Airport, left two persons injured last night (Apr 29).

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following a collision involving a three-tonne lorry and a motorcycle.

According to Lutong station fire chief Henry Jugah, they received a distressed call on the incident at 11.02 pm.

Upon arrival, firefighters from Lutong fire station discovered a semiconscious victim in the lorry, while the motorcyclist, aged 17, was rescued by members of the public.

Fortunately, no further rescue operations were required.

It has been reported that the driver, aged 53, sustained head injuries.

The actual cause of the incident is not immediately known, as investigations are underway.
