Duo nabbed for house break-ins, thefts

MIRI: Police have arrested two local men they believed are responsible for a series of house break-ins and thefts here.

The duo aged 28 and 34 years were detained at two separate locations on Thursday.

The first arrest was made at a house in Kampung Pengkalan Lutong following a tip-off. This was followed by the arrest of the second suspect behind a hotel building at Jalan Kampung Pengkalan Lutong at 12.50pm on the same day.

During the raids, police also seized several items believed to be stolen, such as a flat screen TV, a pair of safety boot, foreign and Malaysian currencies and two laptops with one still containing documents belonging to the victim.

Both suspects were brought in and detained at Miri Central police station (CPS) to assist in investigations.
