MIRI: An e-hailing driver drove into trouble when he was arrested by police on Monday (May 9) after he allegedly caressed his female passenger’s right thigh last Saturday (May 7).

The suspect was arrested around 10.50pm.

According to a police source, the suspect had picked up the victim in Desa Senadin around 6pm on Saturday. The victim took the e-hailing service to go to her friend’s house in Desa Murni.

The incident allegedly took place in the vehicle. The victim had claimed she had seen the suspect taking out a “suspicious spray bottle”.

Fearing for her safety, upon reaching the traffic lights adjacent to Tudan Polyclinic, the victim decided to get out of the car.

She wasted no time in lodging a police report.

The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outraging a woman’s modesty.
