KUCHING:Women e-Preneurs application will give a push for Sarawakian women to move forward in the empowerment of digital era.

Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS) director Noriah Ahmad said the app was launched by the state government through Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) together with the department.

“The application, which was launched on March 9 last year by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, is the sixth core in digital transformation through activities conducted by JWKS including programmes such as women in digital entrepreneurs, digital entrepreneurship literacy seminar and digital entrepreneurship for women courses.

“All these programmes are held to provide exposure, knowledge and skills to women to venture into the field of online business.

“In addition to the e-Preneurs programme, there are two other similar programmes, namely e-community and e-support. All these programmes are to help Sarawak women to move forward, especially in the digital field,” she said.

Noriah noted that beginning January this year until September, a total of 190 people have participated in the e-Preneurs programmes that had been conducted.

It was attended by women entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses using online platforms assisted by agencies such as SMA, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Socoe Sdn Bhd.

In an effort to expand its wings to uplift women, JWKS will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Serba Dinamik’s ‘D-Virtual Park’ which specialises in development and training in the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Sarawak in line with the motto ‘Help Women: Help the Whole Family’.
