Wee hands over Hari Raya goodies to Ojen.

KUCHING: A 99-year-old woman, Rokiah Ibrahim and a 102-year-old man, Ojen Liman at Kampung Lumba here have received Hari Raya goodies.

Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Datuk Wee Hong Seng recently handed over the goodies to them in conjunction with the forthcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri. With Wee were councillor Sufian Ateng and a community leader.

In a statement today (May 4), Wee said  it was important to care for the society during the festive season.

“We must always respect the elderly and take care of them, especially during this pandemic. They are very vulnerable and sensitive towards the virus.

“Therefore, extra protection must be given to them and the young ones must take care of them as well,” he said.

Wee also reminded the public to register their elderly parents for the Covid-19 vaccination.

“Currently, the vaccination phase is for the elderly. Please  grab the opportunity to register them in the Mysejahtera application or visit the official website (www.vaksincovid.gov.my),” he added.
