Early Raya joy for 71 families

MIRI: Seventy-one families will receive food and groceries from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK Jalan Bintang Miri.

The association had received the donations from donors and parents, teachers, communities and the private sector in Miri and Malaysia generally.

Chairman of the association, Iqbal Abdollah said that as of April 26, it had received RM8000 worth of donations.

“We also received financial aid in the form of ‘duit raya’ that will be given to the 82 students from a company director in Sarawak who refuses to be named,” he said.

“The handover ceremony will be held from today until tomorrow (10 am till noon; 2.30 pm until 5 pm) at the Boulevard member card area on the ground floor of the Boulevard Hypermarket and Department Store (Imperial Mall).

The ceremony will be graced by Iqbal, headmaster of SK Jlan Bintang Miri Norleda Saait, vice-chariman Aron Abel and senior assistants of SK Jalan Bintang Miri.
