KUCHING: Malaysian Army Eastern Field Command commander Lieutenant-General Datuk Mohd Zakaria Yadi paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Thursday (Oct 8).

Zakaria used his first visit to introduce himself after being promoted from Major-General to Lieutenant-General on July 10, and officially holding the post of fourth commander of Eastern Field Command on July 17.

During the visit, the security of Sarawak was discussed as well as the cooperative relationship between the state government and the Malaysian Army.

Also present during the visit were First Infantry Division commander Major-General Datuk Dzulkafli Mustaffa and Eastern Field Command first commanding officer (administration) Colonel Zunaidi Hassan.
