KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, received a courtesy call from a delegation of the Malaysian Army led by the commander of the Eastern Field Command (EFC), Lt-Gen Datuk Zakaria Yadi on Monday (Aug 10).

This is Lt-Gen Zakaria’s first visit after assuming the post on July 17, replacing Gen Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain, who is currently the Army chief.

“The visit aims to inform about the efforts of the Army’s Eastern Field Command in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic,” a statement said on Monday (Aug 10).

The 113 cases also saw the seizure of goods and vehicles worth some RM9.79 million.
