KUCHING: The economic activities in the constituency of Satok which was halted early this year due to the movement control order (MCO) is showing promising signs of recovery.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar noted that more patrons were frequenting eateries in the area following the reopening of businesses.
“The economy of small traders in Satok returns to being vibrant as the restaurants here are filled with patrons. This is a positive sign that the state is recovering after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Earlier, the Santubong MP went to a local eatery and met with local residents to attend to complaints and issues of the community.
“Thank God, with the opportunity to have my breakfast with the locals, I was able to hear their problems and meet with folks from the parliamentary constituency of Santubong and Petra Jaya.
“I was also able to garner feedback on the application for aid under Tekun Nasional, SME Corp, Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and Cooperatives Commission of Malaysia (SKM),” he said.
Wan Junaidi also reminded residents to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) laid out by the authorities to further curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
