JOHOR BAHRU: Econsave Cash & Carry Sdn Bhd (Econsave) will return products labelled “palm-oil-free” in a bid to support the government’s “Love My Palm Oil” campaign.
Econsave general manager Mas Imran Adam said the company resisted any efforts by outsiders which could jeopardise and affect negatively the country’s economy.
“It is the policy of our company to support any effort by the government in the ‘Love My Palm Oil’ campaign which aims to improve the quality of life of Malaysians,’ he said in a statement here today.
Econsave he said, urged Malaysians to back the government’s effort to empower the commodity which provided a vital source of income to the people.
Earlier this year, the Ministry of Primary Industries initiated the “Love My Palm Oil” campaign to combat anti-palm oil drive by certain foreign countries.
Its minister Teresa Kok had called on local supermarkets not to support products labelled ‘palm-oil-free’. – Bernama
