KOTA SAMARAHAN: Datuk Rubiah Wang has stressed that education development, especially in rural areas, is one of her priorities.

“Developing human capital, empowering and bridging the education gap is the key to driving education in rural areas.

“We take into account the issue of education as the Sarawak government emulates the education model from Estonia, a country that has the highest literacy rate in the world which covers about 99.89 per cent of its population,” said the Kota Samarahan MP.

“It is the same with other developed countries such as Singapore, which do not have mineral or oil resources but have high incomes as a result of modernization as a result of uplifting the field of education.

“As a wakil rakyat, I am concerned about the needs of students who will pursue their studies at any higher education institute and of course, it will pose a challenge for prospective students because of the new environment.”

Rubiah said this after handing over incentives to 72 students from Kota Samarahan recently.
