According to Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, the Ops Dadu raid was carried out by a team of D7 officers of the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on six premises throughout the city from 2pm.

The team detained eight individuals comprising five local women, two local men and an Indonesian man, aged between 18 and 49 years old.

“Police also seized eight smartphones believed to be used as an online gambling kiosk and unlicensed public lottery kiosk, RM2,053 cash, and two pieces of paper with online gambling ID and unlicensed public lottery numbers written on it,” Poge said in a statement.

He added that the suspects and seizures were taken to the police station for further action.
