Representative from Maxim hands out the essential items to some of the flood victims.

BINTULU: Eight families who were affected by floods here last week received much needed items from Maxim Bintulu.

The eight families are currently staying at Kpg Assyakirin community hall as their temporary shelters.

“Most of them were only able to bring clothes and basic necessities because the weather conditions required them to move out immediately.

“Therefore, we donated basic food like mineral water, hot food and snacks and this is because most of those affected do not have the facilities to cook” said a press release issued yesterday.

Maxim further added the items were donated by their team and they worked together to make sure that everyone would get their items equally.

“The main purpose of this charity programme is to help people in need, because we believe that some of them are our users.

“This campaign was like giving back to the users, sharing kindness. We understand the burden, especially since the incident happened at the beginning of the year, and we hope all the donations will help all the victims,” Maxim added.

Maxim hopes the small gesture can help ease the burden and suffering of all those affected and also inspire others to follow suit.
