KUCHING: The Kakus Constituency Service Centre has distributed essential food items to eight longhouses in the Kakus constituency following the implementation of the two weeks enhanced movement control order (EMCO) enforced to effectively carry out active case detection (ACD) operations in the area.

“During this period, all longhouse residents are not allowed to leave their homes and to not go to the market and their farms.

The longhouses which have received food assistance include Rumah Enggul, Rumah Jali, Rumah Luni, Rumah Belayong, Rumah Tepi, Rumah Minggu, Rumah Rimong, and Rumah Undum.

The food items provided by the centre should ease the burden of the residents who are undergoing the ACD which must be completed.

Mukah District administrative officer Peleadzman Ahip who was representing the Mukah District officer presented the food items to Eugene John Sikie.

In his speech, Eugene said that the presentation of food items by the centre is a sincere effort to help ease the burden of the residents in the longhouse following the implementation of ACD in their area.
