Sarawakian Aaisyah Batrisya Putit, the newly-crowned Mini Miss Global 2024

KUCHING: Eight-year-old Sarawakian Aaisyah Batrisya Putit, the newly-crowned Mini Miss Global 2024, was all smiles when she arrived here from Kuala Lumpur at about 8.30pm last Sunday (March 10).

She said she looked forward to meeting her classmates in school on Monday (March 11), and wanted to thank them for their support after winning the title.

The charming Aaisyah, the second of three siblings, beat other contestants from India, Uganda, South Africa, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines and Thailand, during the finals in Kuala Lumpur last Friday (March 8), will hold her title with immediate effect until March 2024.

During her year-reign, Aaisyah, who wants to be a scientist when she grows up, pledged to make pageant organisers proud, while maintaining that her school and studies remain her number one priority.

“I am excited to go to school tomorrow, first of all I want to thank my friends for supporting me, and I want to study hard because I want to be a scientist when I grow up.”

Aaisyah brought home USD3,000, in the form of a trophy, a certificate, a crown and other sponsorships.

During the contest, she also won Best Introduction Award, Best Interview Award, Darling of the Crowd, Most Fashionista Award, Most Charming Award, Global Children and Youth Pageant 2024 Award, top three in National and top three in Talent.

Prior to the final, Aaisyah won Mini Miss Global Malaysia 2023, which qualified her to represent Malaysia.

The competition was organised by Leading Management, namely the Founder of Kids and Teens Pageant Global, Leo Raynold.

This pageantry, which is part of the second edition, for girls aged four to nine, aimed at discovering new talents among children at that age, for the modelling industry, both domestically and internationally.

Other titles in the pageantry also included Littele Miss Global (ages 10 to 12), Miss Pre Teen Global (ages 13 to 15), Little Mister Global (ages four to 12), and Mister Teen Global (ages 13 to 17).

Accompanying Aaisyah last Sunday were her parents, and her trainers, Viviana Lin Winston and Angela Martin.
