Eight years’ jail for wife who stabbed husband’s girlfriend

SIBU: A dish washer, who stabbed the private part of her husband’s girlfriend with a knife in a threesome which went wrong, has been sentenced to eight years’ jail by the Sessions Court here yesterday after she pleaded guilty to the offence.

Meanwhile, her husband, who also pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court, was jailed for seven months for enticing his girlfriend to have sex with him even though he knew she was married with four children. He also knew her husband was working in the Solomon Islands.

According to the charge sheet, the woman, Ting Hai Hua, 46, had used a knife to stab the 34-year-old victim’s private part in the couple’s rented room in Lajang Lane at about 9.30pm on March 24.

She was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code with the offence.

Ting had earlier asked her husband, Maram Mebang, 29, an assistant lorry driver, to bring the victim to their rented room to discuss their three-way relationship.

She had promised that she would not cause any trouble if he asked the victim, a council market cleaner, to come.

While happily chatting, both women had soft drinks while the man drank hard liquor. They then agreed to have a threesome.  After the husband and wife had sex, Ting told Maram that she wanted to go to the toilet to ease herself.

The man then continued to have sex with the victim. Suddenly, Ting returned with a knife and used it to stab on the victim’s private part. The latter, who was bleeding profusely, screamed in pain.

In mitigation, Ting pleaded for leniency. She told the court that she had committed the offence as she was out of her mind during the incident because she loved her husband and was scared, he would leave her.

The couple had no children from their seven years of marriage.

Judge Stella Augustine Druce, in passing the sentence, took into consideration that Ting had saved the court time and expenses by pleading guilty and that she had no previous conviction.

Maram was slapped with eight months’ jail by Magistrate Saiful Ayoti for the offence under Section 498 of the Penal Code.
