KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching recently visited and provided assistance to an elderly man who is bedridden.

This was done after receiving a call from his daughter who requested for help.

Ali Abg Dondang, 70, has been bedridden since March this year and he lives with his wife in Kampung Rampangi.

The non-governmental organisation (NGO) stated that Ali is in need of assistance in terms of adult diapers and supplies of special milk powder.

“Uncle Ali had experienced four stokes and earlier this year, it left him bedridden and unable to speak. He is now under tube-feeding and his wife is the only person taking care of him.

“Although his wife, Aunty Misnah, 57, has high blood pressure and is partially deaf, she tries her best to take care of her husband. The couple has one child, but she is married and has her own family struggles,” the NGO spokesman said.

Hope Place disclosed the family is thankful that  Ali is a recipient of RM500 monthly assistance from the Social Welfare Department (JKM).
