SRI AMAN: A tragic incident occurred today (July 17) when a driver crashed his van into a parked lorry along KM45, Jalan Sri Aman-Serian.
The driver, identified as 72-year-old Tan Kok Sun lost his life in the accident.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported that the collision took place near Kampung Rapak Atas at approximately 1.55 pm.
Upon receiving the emergency call, the Sri Aman station firemen quickly responded to the scene to carry out rescue operations.
Upon their arrival, the rescue team used specialised tools to extract the victim from the vehicle, as he was trapped inside.
Despite their efforts, the paramedics at the scene pronounced the victim dead.
The police later took the victim’s body and transported it to the hospital.
