EMCO ends for 13 locations

KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has ended the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) at 13 locations in the state.

In a statement yesterday (May 19), it announced the end of EMCO at Rumah (Rh) Monica Giri, Salim-Stabau, Sibu the same day.

The EMCO at three locations in Selangau, namely Rh Lenggang, Nangga Tajam, Batang Oya; Rh Umin, Sungai Nirai; and Rh Ambrose Ramping and the EMCO at Rh Inyang, Sungai Ranan; Rh Sali, Nanga Ngungun; and Rh Seliau, Sungai Tuah in Kanowit also ended yesterday.

The EMCO at two places in Bintulu — Block G, H, and R of the Sungai Plan Flat and Blok D of the Taman Li Hua Flat — as well as the EMCO at Rh Setia, Ulu Minus, Sarikei also ended yesterday.

Meanwhile, the EMCO at Kolej Tingkatan Enam, Kampung Tanjung Hulu and Kampung Melango Lama in Saratok ended on Tuesday (May 18)..

SDMC announced that the Bukit Mabong district had changed from red to orange status after recording 37 local infection cases in the past fortnight.

“This decreases the number of red districts in the state to 24 while the number of orange districts has changed to two,” it said.

The committee added that Lundu district had turned yellow again with 20 local infection cases reported in the last 14 days.

“This increases the number of yellow districts to eight,” it said.

The committee said there were now five green districts in the state.
