EMCO enforced at 14 new localities in state

KUCHING: The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) has been imposed at 14 new localities in four districts of the state. 

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the localities were located in the districts of Bintulu, Lubok Antu, Subis and Betong. 

“In the Bintulu district, the EMCO was enforced at Rumah Philip Bagong, Sungai Silas; Rumah Suhaili Siba, Batu 25, Jalan Bintulu-Miri; Rumah Danggang Subah, KM33, Jalan Bintulu-Tatau and Rumah Jangi Jambai, KM 1, Jalan Ulu Sebauh from Sept 11 until Sept 24.

“In the Lubok Antu district, the EMCO was enforced at Rumah Simon, Bui Panjai; Rumah Charlie, Empit; Rumah Sibat, Jelukong, Engkelili and Rumah Mangku, Sungai Keroh, Engkelili, EMCO starting today (Sept 12) until Sept 25.

“The EMCO at Rumah Misoon, Nanga Salu, Sibuti in the Subis district was also enforced on the same day,” added the committee.

The SDMC revealed that in the Betong district, the EMCO would be enforced from today (Sept 13) until Sept 26 at Rumah Banggai, Maja; Rumah Bit, Skuyat Baru; Rumah Patrick Benjamin, Stambak Ulu; Rumah Rayong, Ng. Lop, Debak and Rumah Snap, Sabar Asal, Debak.

It also announced the extension of the EMCO at nine localities, namely, Taman Bandar Jaya (from Sept 11 until Sept 24) in Bintulu; Rumah Sumping, Kampung Ran (Sept 12-19), Rumah Bonny, Sungai Mansau, Pantu, Rumah Noria, Kampung Entulang, Rumah Tarang, Entulang Entawa, Rumah Edwin, Gua Dunggat and Rumah Ngang, Rapak Jinggau (from Sept 12 until Sept 25) in Sri Aman.

“The EMCO has also been extended from Sept 12 until Sept 15 at Rumah Tindit, Nanga Kesit in Lubok Antu as well as Rumah Renga Anak Layang, Sungai Senggam, Jalan Sebungan from Sept 13 until Sept 26,” it added.

Meanwhile, it also announced the end of the EMCO at the rented rooms above Shin Seng Auto Service, Batu 5 in Bintulu on Sept 11; Kampung Sungai Alo and Kampung Sungai Alo resettlement scheme in Mukah on Sept 12 along with Rumah Kamarau, Munggu Prin, Debak in Betong and Rumah Julai, Kampung Entawa Wong Padong, Rumah Berayan, Kampung Panggil and Rumah Ayai, Kampung Putat in Sri Aman.

 Similarly on Sept 12, the EMCO also ended at Rumah Ugop Umpin, Nanga Sigu, Pandan in Sebauh; Rumah Richard Unsa, Batu 25, Jalan Bintulu/Miri and Rumah Sating Bundan, KM 67, Jalan Bintulu-Miri in Bintulu as well as Uma Lesong (Block A, E & F), Sungai Asap in Belaga.

The SDMC also reported that the Marudi district had changed to orange after recording 33 new local cases in the past two weeks.

Currently, Sarawak has 35 red districts, two orange districts, three yellow districts and no green district.
