KUCHING: The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) will be enforced in 10 new localities in the state.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that two villages – Kampung Sindang Baru, Kota Samarahan and Kampung Tanjung Kelaso, Asajaya – will undergo EMCO from May 28 to June 10.
Meanwhile, EMCO will be enforced in two areas in Bintulu from May 29 to June 11. They are a rented room above DD Mart, Sungai Plan and Almabumi Plantation workers quarters, Ladang Bukit, Ulu Sebauh.
Two more areas in Bintulu, will be undergo EMCO from May 30 to June 12. They are Foreign Lodge, Block E9, Samalaju Industrial Park and Local Lodge LL4
Apart from that, Kampung Stakan Melayu in Kota Samarahan and Kampung Darat, Gerigat in Kabong will be placed under EMCO from June 2 to June 15.
Two areas in Mukah –Kampung Bunut and Rumah Undum Anchih, Sungai Duan – will have EMCO enforced from June 3 to 16.
SDMC also announced that EMCO will be extended in three areas. EMCO in Rumah Tiut Usit in Sungai Setulan, Jalan Pesisir Kuala Tatau, Tatau, will be extended from May 30 to June 12.
EMCO in Rumah Resa Empelanjau, Bakong, Lingga, Sri Aman, will be extended from June 1 to 14. Lastly, Rumah Wun Ering in Tanjung Manis will have its EMCO extended from June 3 to 16.
SDMC also declared that six longhouses and a village will have the EMCO lifted today (June 1).
They are Rumah Brandah Tanjung Rirang, Sri Aman; Rumah Nyandang, Nanga Lasi and Rumah Ayup, Nanga Lassi Mit in Julau; Rumah Bantan, Sungai Langit, Rumah Empaling, Jelang, Spak, and Kampung Hulu, Spaoh in Betong; and Rumah Ely, Kerangan Langgir Wat in Pakan.
Also, SK Bakerkong in Tanjung Manis will have its EMCO lifted tomorrow (June 2).
