EMCO-imposed residents receive food aid

KUCHING: The Pantai Damai Service Centre today (May 25) handed over food assistance to residents of Kampung Boyan who are subject to the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from May 21 to June 4.

The contribution was presented by Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi to State Social Welfare Department (JKM) officer Hasri Mohd Rais who represented the affected residents.

Dr Abdul Rahman said the contribution was distributed to 76 heads of households living in Kampung Boyan.

He added the contribution consists groceries including fresh chicken, vegetables and eggs.

“The EMCO in Kampung Boyan involving 76 households is running smoothly so far.

“Thank you to all the agencies involved,” he said.

He said this after handing over the assistance to the residents of Kampung Boyan today (May 25).

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the Assistant Minister of Utilities (Water Supply), said he hoped that the EMCO enforced in Kampung Boyan would continue to run smoothly and that the affected residents would be patient during these times of trial.
