KUCHING: Employers have until June 30 this year to register their foreign employees under the Workforce Recalibration Programme (WRP) 2.0.
Sarawak Immigration Department director Abdul Halim Abang Naili gave the reminder following an engagement session on the WRP 2.0 implementation yesterday (Apr 2).
The session, jointly organised by the Enforcement Division and the Foreign Workers Division, aimed to familiarise industry players with the programme’s requirements ahead of the registration deadline on Jun 30.
“To facilitate registration in the WRP 2.0, employers can visit the department’s portal at www.imi.gov.my and click on the ‘recalibration portal’ section.
“Employers whose foreign workers qualify for the WRP 2.0, must liaise with the department’s Foreign Workers Division by Dec 31 this year to obtain the temporary work visit passes,” he said.
The recently concluded session was attended by 50 employer representatives from the plantation sector at the Sarawak Immigration Department’s headquarters at Jalan Simpang Tiga.
In the session, the representatives also received comprehensive guidance on the registration process and operational aspects of the programme.
