BINTULU: The Bintulu Dayak Development Association (BANGUN) is taking the lead in supporting local small and medium-sized traders to boost their economic prospects.

The “BANGUN 2024 Gawai Dayak Market” event, which took place at the Emart Bintulu market square from May 1 to 19, featured 28 vendors who showcased a diverse array of products including handicrafts, beverages, and food items.

In a statement, BANGUN chairman Twet Langak said the event garnered financial support from BMAS Holdings Sdn Bhd, whose executive chairman, Andenson Paran, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to bolstering local traders.

“Our company’s efforts are dedicated to assisting local small traders and enhancing the festive atmosphere in Sarawak.

“With strong support from public and private sectors, our initiatives can greatly benefit all parties involved in small and medium businesses, particularly those eager to embark on entrepreneurial ventures,” said Andenson.

Meanwhile, the event, which included mini concerts by local Iban artists, is expected to generate significant sales.
