KUCHING: An empty two-storey house was burnt down to the ground early this morning.
An emergency call was received by the State Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (Bomba) at 1.56am about house on fire.
It despatched firefighters from Batu Lintang and Tabuan Jaya Bomba stations to Lorong 2, Jalan Sungai Maong Tengah.
“Upon arrival, the operations commander said that the house has completely destroyed by a huge fire.
“They were informed that there were no occupants inside and that the house was empty.
“Firefighters commenced the operations to put out the fire using water from the fire engines and a nearby water hydrant,” it said.
The fire was under control and was extinguished by 2.26am. The operations ended at 3.04am and firefighters returned to their respective stations.
