Encouraging response to blood donation drive

KUCHING: The blood donation programme at Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (PKS) received an encouraging response, with 46 donors consisting of staff members and students coming forward to bleed for a good cause.

The programme was organised by the Department of Transfusion Services and Blood Bank, Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) in collaboration with the Student Representative Council and Department of Sports, Co-curriculum and Culture of PKS.

It was carried out at the Training and Further Education Unit and Corporate, Industrial Services and Employability Centre (CISEC), PKS.

Meanwhile, the PKS Alumni Association distributed an estimated 700 food and beverage packages to the polytechnic’s boarders in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.

The contribution was one of the association’s activities with PKS students which have been planned.

The packages were presented by PKS Alumni Association chairperson Norliza Saidi, witnessed by PKS deputy director (Academic) Samsudin Mohd Saleh.

Also present at the programme were PKS Alumni Association secretary Nurazura Rali and its Student Affairs Department head Mahathir Mohamad Kamin.
