Energy forum attracts over 100 businessmen

KUCHING: More than 100 participants from both public and business communities from Korea and Sarawak are expected to participate in the ‘Sarawak-Korea Energy Business Forum 2022’.

The forum will be held at The Waterfront Hotel here tomorrow (June 9) and is expected to facilitate the exploration and creation of more strategic business alliance between South Korea and Sarawak.

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Malaysia Lee Chi Beom said it is the first collaboration between the Sarawak government and the embassy of Republic of Korea in Malaysia.

He noted that there is ample room for cooperation between Korea and Sarawak in the energy sector.

“The Sarawak-Korea Energy Business Forum will provide an opportunity for Korean businessmen to discover the growth potential of Sarawak.

“Hopefully the forum will serve as an excellent platform to further increase cooperation between Korea and Sarawak,” he said in a statement today (June 8).

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will address the forum on the topic of strategic partnership between Korea and Sarawak in the energy sector.

Among other things, the objective of the event is to bring together all stakeholders in the field of energy and to explore the potential of Sarawak-Korea cooperation in energy sector, particularly in renewable energy and hydrogen.
