Engage, interact and share ideas in Unimas programme

KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) marked another collaboration with foreign universities at the launching of the International Engagement Week (IEW) 2021.

The three-day programme is organised by the Persatuan Mahasiswa Fakulti Ekonomi dan Perniagaan, Unimas, with the theme ‘Celebrating Our Cultural Diversity,’ which runs from May 27 to 29.

Faculty of Economics and Business dean Assoc  Prof Dr Rossazana Abdul Rahim officiated at the programme.

This virtual international event aims to provide another platform for students of local and foreign universities to engage, interact and share ideas.

The activities scheduled throughout the programme allow participants to bond and bridge their cultural differences through the sharing of their culture, food, places of interest and experiences.

Speakers included Dr Helma Malini from University Tanjungpura, Indonesia; Zaw Htet Pine from Co-operative University Thanlyin, Myanmar; Assoc Prof Rodolfo Delgado from Kitakyushu University, Japan and Jonson Lim Jia Sheng, a student representative of the Association of Malaysian Economics Undergraduates, University of Exeter, United Kingdom.

The sharing sessions provide insights into the diverse anthropology of different countries, the lecturer’s experiences teaching in a foreign university and the experiences of students studying abroad.
