KUCHING: Sarawak Narcotics Department found another drug peddlers’ hideout in Lundu where an engineer and a labourer were nabbed for taking drugs.

The department’s head, Superintendent Sahar Abdul Latif said a 31-year-old engineer from Kampung Trusan Jaya, Sematan, Lundu working at Pan Borneo Highway project site, and a labourer from Kpg Tanah Hitam, Sematan, Lundu aged 28 were arrested at 11.45am yesterday.

The suspects who are both married were found in an unnumbered house at Kpg Pueh, Sematan Lundu where they were buying the drugs.

Sahar said a plastic bag containing syabu weighing 31.15g worth RM4,500 was also found in a bedroom of the house.

He said the narcotics team detained both men after they claimed that were there to buy drugs.

“Initial investigations revealed that the house is used for drug peddling since late last year.

The duo tested positive for drugs.

The police also recently raided a house in a village in Bau being used for drug
peddling.

Sahar assured that police will continue to do their best to get rid of drugs in Sarawak and appealed to the relevant departments and agencies to assist.
