MIRI: In order to be successful in farming, farmers need to enhance their knowledge and skills, said Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.

He said this while speaking at an Agriculture Community Outreach Programme (AgriCOP) on the cultivation of Musang King durian and oil palm held at Rumah Webster, Sungai Putih, Suai on Tuesday.

“Success isn’t just about working hard; you must have the necessary knowledge and skills in order to succeed.

“Hence we must utilise new knowledge in agriculture so that we can grow,” he said.

Rundi also called on the people to always work together and support each other to maintain harmony while driving the development that is being carried out by the Sarawak government.

At the event, he also presented contributions worth at RM30,000 to Rumah Webster to carry out activities in the longhouse and RM10,000 to its women’s bureau.
